Job Description
Windows Infrastructure specialist required to work in the Windows Team, with extensive experience/knowledge of the Server operating System, Active Directory and associated infrastructure components. The role is project based, with numerous activities to expand and enhance the current technologies provided within the environment. The Windows Team provides a stable, yet agile and dynamic infrastructure platform to support the business functional requirements whilst managing associated risks. The ideal candidate will have a very strong technical foundation as well as a strategic mindset, good communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others.
The core responsibilities of this role include:
- Engineer/sustain existing/new technologies into the firm - Ensure products meet the necessary security, supportability, performance requirements - Create, review, maintain and update documentation. - Investigate & Troubleshoot root causes. - Document & Publish fixes in central knowledge base. - Dissemination of knowledge amongst colleagues. - Active participation within and amongst teams and colleagues, providing constructive feedback when necessary. - Input into Business Continuity Planning and Practices.
The candidate must demonstrate strong technical qualities - preferably in a global environment.
Skills Required Skills desired/required are:
- Deep technical understanding of Windows infrastructure services (e.g. AD, GPO, CIFS, DFS) within the enterprise. - Knowledge of common third party tools to manage large environments. - Strong troubleshooting mindset (i.e. parsing event log, sysinternals tools, analyzing memory dumps). - Scripting ability highly desired (whether with PowerShell, WMI, VBScript, etc.). - Ability to write technical and operational management documentation (system design and engineering documents, operational runbooks). - Expertise in designing large scale infrastructures in the enterprise. - Experience giving presentations, strong communication skills. - Windows Operating System (up to and including debugging) - SCCM - Windows Clustering - SAN
